Monkey D. Luffy's family is really powerful. For one, Gold Roger was THE pirate king. His name was really Gol D. Roger (I only noticed this after watching the One Piece episodes thrice, I believe it was Doctorine who mentioned it indirectly, saying Gol D., and commenting about "Gold"... "So that's what they call him nowadays, Gold Roger."). Ace D. Portgas, one of the strongest among Whitebeard's crew is his brother. The vice admiral and giant friend of Nico Robin was also a D.
Luffy and his crew's bounty just keep on growing! I know this is just an anime, but I really love One Piece! It has very simple character drawings, but the story is very deep and moving.
